A customer books the freight
A shipper or customer books a transportation order into the Partner Network — or creates a quote first for a tentative shipment — through the same API every party uses.

The load is offered to a carrier
The load goes out as an offer to a carrier on the network. The carrier's system receives it and accepts or rejects it over the API — no phone calls, no rekeying.

Stops update in real time
As the carrier runs the load, arrivals and departures post against each stop, and GPS positions stream in. Webhook subscribers — the customer, the agent — get each event pushed to their systems as it happens.

Documents flow back
Notes and documents attach to the load and flow back across the partnership, so the paperwork lands with the customer without a separate email thread.
Alongside the load itself, the fleet side of the API keeps the equipment picture current: tractors, trailers, and drivers are managed as first-class resources, with Hours of Service (ELD), GPS position history, and vehicle performance events available per unit.

How do I get API access?
CarrierCloud access is set up through Tranztec rather than self-serve signup. Contact us about API access for your team, or start a partnership inquiry if you're a technology provider. Integration partners then get developer portal and sandbox access to build against.
What data can I exchange through CarrierCloud?
The freight side covers orders, quotes, offers, loads, stops, documents, and notes. How does authentication work?
Every call is authenticated with an API key sent as a bearer token in the Authorization header. Data access is scoped by the Partner Network: partnerships are requested and approved between parties, and every resource you can read or write is tied to an approved partner relationship.
What's the difference between API v1 and v2?
v1 is the full-featured surface for carriers, customers, and partners — the complete freight lifecycle plus fleet and telematics data. v2 streamlines authentication and partner management. Both are JSON over REST and specified in OpenAPI, with an interactive endpoint reference for each.
